well..what did you expect?

The Lakers are not only the best team in the NBA.. they are the biggest..with basically three 7ft allstar players..Odom being a long 6 11.. then throw in the premier wing defender and tough guy in the league in Ron Artest.. who is built more like a defensive end then a small forward..oh yah then there is a guy named Kobe..I think you get the point.. this team is as stacked as it gets..They immediately took advantage of there size taking turns posting up our dwarfed front court..They also came out with an intensity that I think surprised the young dub's..It was actually a sign of respect..knowing full well what advantage the Oracle crowd can give the Warrior..they went for the throat early..It was pretty academic..being overwhelmed at pretty much every position..the lakers length kept monta out of the paint all night..leading to the whole team settling for perimeter shots..Curry took a career high in shots..it showed again the kid is beyond his years on the court..with monta not able to get to the hoop.. he realized they needed him to score..he made a few baskets keeping them in the game going into the half..The second half looked like a Laker open gym..as they took turns getting there numbers..only thing interesting was a little confrontation between Gasol and Randolph..I had no problem with AR.. Gasol was discreetly rubbing in the beating after every dunk..and I like the fact AR got mad.. tho I think Smart should have kept him in there so he could take his whooping..As bad a loss as it was and at home.. I don't think it will hurt the things they have been building on of late..Tho they would never say it.. the Warriors know they are not ready to compete with the Lakers..and really who is?

Game 14

Gassed

on the back end of a back to back the warriors faced the stifling Spurs in San Antonio..All teams lean on there best player to an extent.. but what the warriors have asked of Monta Ellis the last three games has been too much..despite Ellis being an energizer bunny..He finally ran out of juice midway through the third Wednesday night ..In what was still a very impressive effort Ellis again carried the team scoring 28 points in the first half.. 18 in the first quarter alone..The game was pretty much going the same way it was in Dallas..only this time Monta didn't get the late game support he got the night before..Maggette came in and helped with the scoring load in the second..just enough to keep them close..but the younger warriors mainly Morrow and curry who were both coming off career highs in minutes.. just didn't seem to have it.. turning the ball over far to much and coming up short on most of there shots.. which was a sure sign there legs had betrayed them..Once monta ran out of gas the spurs started to pick away at the wary warriors..The lead ballooned to 22 mid way through the fourth.. but Curry and Morrow showed what little fight they had left in them and got it back down to a respectable number.. Given the circumstance I think they have to feel pretty damn good about them selves on this Texas two step..One thing is clear..Monta Ellis is an elite scorer.

Game 13

Daaaang!

The Warriors came in to Dallas 15 point dogs facing a team that has won 5 in a row..Oh yeah not only was the rotation down to 6 players..the Don is back in the Bay area with pneumonia.. in steps assistant coach and air apparent Keith Smart.. who seems to have a great rapport with the young warriors.. coaching most of them in summer league.. and well he didn't have any choice but to use them..They came out of the gate very tentative.. almost to worried about getting there teammates involved.. this led to passing up shots they should have taken..which led to turnovers.. Im talking 5 or 6 in the first 5 minutes of the game..what kept them in it was there ability to create some turnovers of there own..with Dallas threating to bust the game open..Monta took control of the offense and started to get to the hoop in his normal aggressive fashion..and that seemed to wake everybody up and got them back to run and gun ball..Morrow who played all 48 minutes for the first time in his career.. showed a new found hunger crashing the boards and creating for others..It's good to see that he's not content just being a lights out shooter and he knows he's got to do more to stay on the floor..He matched Dirk's hot shooting in the second..along with Radmanovic..who showed a scrappyness around the hoop and guarding Dirk..while still contributing on the offensive end..In the third Monta took the team on his shoulders some how getting to the rim on a defense that was shading and waiting for him there..it made no difference..as Monta kept getting to the cup finishing with contact and several and1's..In the forth Dallas looked to pull away.. as Monta was starting to gas from the beating he had been taking every time he touched the ball..In desperate need of someone to step up Stephen Curry had his biggest quarter of his young career.. hitting a huge transition 3 that got them over the hump and gave them the lead for the first time since the second quarter..He had 11 points in the forth and every one of them bigger then the last..finishing with a career high 18.. The Unsung hero late in the game was Randolph..who some how seemed to challenge every jump shot the mavs took.. a lot of these were defensive rotations where he had to run out late on what you would think were open shots..his lanky flailing frame..flying full speed was with out a doubt disrupting these would be makes from good shooters..Monta and his young troops stepped up..stepped up big in big D..its just 2 games.. but warriors fans is it time to get excited?

Game 12

The next step

In what was the the Warriors best game of the year..Monta Ellis had a coming out party..it what was the best game of his career..first and for most he was matched up against a guy who many consider a top 10 player in the league in Brandon Roy..a 6 6' 220 lbs do it all guard and perennial allstar..In years past I don't think nellie would have even attempted to put monta on the much bigger guard.. but with jax gone and monta being "the big money guy" he drew the assignment..Monta was game from the start pushing Roy out of his sweet spots on the elbow and mid block..using his quick hands to make him terminate his dribble earlier then he wanted..Offensively he had everything going.. even hit a 3 off the dribble something I can't remember ever seeing him do..we all know about the mid range game and how he gets to the cup like few others..but something that I think may go a bit unnoticed is his improved ball handling..It's only natural..handling the ball more this year then ever before he has picked up a few new tricks with the rock..maybe from his young back court mate..Monta is the type of player that sees something and can immediately put it in his tool box..But back to his defense.. his ball hawking led to a career high 6 steals..and more importantly most all of them led to transition points.. all while frustrating the allstar Roy..His improved decision making on the break got everybody involved whether it was Curry and Morrow from outside or getting AR a much needed dunk.. from there with Oracle behind him the Blazers didn't stand a chance..I know I know it's one game! But you cant help but be excited about what you saw from the "head leader" (sorry had to do it lol) it looks like he is taking that step and becoming a complete basketball player..

ON another positive note.. it looks like the Warriors may have finally found there "beef" in NBDL call up Chris Hunter a 6 11' 250 lbs 25 year old who played at Michigan..played about 15 minutes and really impacted the game with his size.. keeping Oden from getting to deep in the paint and made a few basketball plays..It will be very nice to have someone who can hold there ground against the heavyweights in the league.

Game 11

Good effort

On what is probably the toughest back to back of the season and with 7 healthy players
they rolled up there sleeves and went to work in Boston..Maggs continued his hot shooting and carried us through the first quarter..while kendric perkins was the beneficiary of some great passes from KG and rondo and was off and rolling..In a surprise appearance Raja Bell entered the game and immediately brought it..hitting a couple patent corner threes and was his scrappy self despite the wrist injury..Watching the game live I was thinking..wow Rondo is giving Monta trouble..but after going back through the game I realized That he had little to do with it.. as monta consistently blew by him only to find two 7 footers in the paint at all times..To Monta's credit he kept going to the hoop.. but never found a rhythm..The warriors hung in there in the first half mostly with Maggs scoring and pretty good team defense..The third quarter was a disaster.. maybe it was the old one lose rim one tight rim trick they use to pull at the garden.. whatever reason it was they couldn't buy a bucket..Boston wasn't playing very well either.. but in the final 5 minutes of the quarter they got going from behind the arc and gave them self a comfortable cushion..also of note after a good first half Curry didn't play but a few minute of the third and it hurt the offense..In the Fourth Boston kept us at arms length the rest of the way almost just going through the motions..AR had another solid performance rebounding well and continuing to show improved touch in his face up game..I only hope that once we get our other bigs back..Anthony is not stuck back on the bench.. the kid need to play.

Game 10

New Beginning

The post jax era in golden state began last night in Cleveland.. and the mood and demeanor of the team was different from the get..they came out moving the ball around and hitting there first 3 or 4 shots..Radmanovic got the start which Im sure irked AR along with the entire fan base.. but was no surprise.. he played very well..knocked down a couple jumpers and snagged a couple offensive rebounds.. he really kept them close through the first quarter..monta despite a ton of rumors he is disgruntled and has one foot out the door..played with a lot of intensity especially on the defensive end.. was it the departure of jax and the better team moral? or was it the fact he was going against his hometown NBA rival Mo Williams aka the other pride of Jackson missip..either way he played hard and well..penetrating and kicking for 8 assists on the night..The side story of the night was maggs and lebron and the lack of fondness between the two..it started at the end of the first with maggs complaining about lebron fouling him..and the two exchanging words..Last thing you want to do fire up lebron.. but to corey's credit his competitive spirit came out and he rose to the occasion.. playing what I think was one of his best overall games as a warrior..Of course the scoring was there.. but he pulled 11 boards 5 offensive and had 3 assists that were actually legit setting his teammates up assists..did he out play lebron? of course not.. but he held his own and seemed to welcome the challenge.. which set the tone for this now even younger team..curry played well and looks like he is finding his touch..AR was a mess for 3 quarters.. getting owned by rugged JJ hickson all over the paint.. After what was called an intense talking to by raja bell before the fourth quarter began.. AR came out and contributed by scoring a few buckets and crashing the boards hard..he seemed much more focused..and that chat with raja is exactly why he was part of the deal..in the final 2 minutes lebron did what he does and put us away..I know "there is no such thing as moral victory's in pro sports" but the young ins had to feel good about how they played.. and it surely boosted the teams moral and confidence..now lets hope that's not sucked out of them tomorrow night in bean town.

Hit the road jack..and don't cha come back

Monday morning Stephen Jackson got his wish..getting traded to the Charlotte Bobcats..The deal was jax and Acie Law for Raja Bell and Vladimir Radmanovic.. Bell being an expiring contract and Radmanovic having one more year left at about 6.5 mill..
If neither of these players ever saw the floor for the warriors..the team would still be improved.. at this point is addition by subtraction.. jax had become a cancer in the locker room and most of time on the floor..Am I excited about the players we brought in..no.. but I am excited to see the teams demeanor and chemistry with jax gone..particularly Monta Ellis who I think was influenced by jax more then any other player.. not only does this open up 30+ minutes a night but it opens up a leadership role that jax claimed he gave up at the beginning of the season.. but in reality as long as he was here he was the leader..As far as the two new warriors go.. Bell once was an all defensive player and still is a a decent one in the twilight of his career.. but more importantly he is a high character guy and the polar opposite of jax off the floor..he should be a positive influence on the young players his work ethic and professionalism is unquestioned around the league.. I expect him to play quite a bit automatically becoming our best defender and is still a very good catch and shoot player.. Radmanovic is a "nellie ball" player a 6 10' 3 point shooter with out a conscious.. Phil Jackson called him space cadet during his stint in LA.. he has a low BB iq and tends to lose focus.. he has been struggling with his shot but when he gets going he can hit 7 o 8 in a row.. I expect him to do much better under nellie where he wont be asked to think..just shoot.. and a gunner like that he should be in heaven..Could the warriors have gotten more? not with out giving up more..How will this work out for jax and the Bobcats? only time will tell.. while Charlotte is far from the contender jax coveted.. they should be competitive and with out question have gotten better in the move.. that said they will be lucky to stay in the hunt for the 8th spot in a new look powerhouse eastern conference..

It was good when it was good.. and it was bad when it was bad.. peace jax....

shout to AJbry for the highlight clip

Game 9

Best BJ ever!

In the first few minutes of the game azubuike's knee looked like it completely blew out ..after seeing him carted off the floor the team responded playing hard and with a seriousness we haven't seen in them this year..they pulled out to a double digit lead with moore having his best game in a warrior uniform..Bogut who was having his way inside was giving up jumper after jumper to moore on the other end.. in the second we saw a little glimpse of what was to come..easily the quickest player in the league brandon jennings who was scoreless in the first hit a 3 and then got the hoop a couple times as he started to get in a rhythm.. in what was a very good overall half the dubs took an 8 or 9 point lead into half time getting contributions across the board in a good team effort.. the third quarter was something that anybody who watched it will probably never forget..the video speaks for it self really.. jennings took over.. you hear nba guys say "I was in the zone" well this was the definition of that.. his silky slingshot J was dropping from every where.. the kid is so quick you have to give him a few feet or he will blow by anybody.. he finished the quarter with 29 points at one point scoring 16 in a row.. to the warriors credit they hung in there and kept the game in reach..in the forth jenning's looked to get his teammates involved penetrating and dishing..maggs really kept them in the game scoring 21 fourth quarter points matched up with the 7 footer bogut..in the end it was to much jennings.. every time they needed a bucket he delivered finishing with 55 points and carrying his team to victory.

azubuike will fly back to the bay area to be evaluated.. but if I had to guess he is done for the year.. you just hope it isn't a career threatening injury.

Game 8

scrimmage?

If the warriors were a blind man..the knicks are def dumb and blind
The game started out with the usual taking turns isolation's..most night that gets them out to a bad start.. not in NY..point blank the knicks are an abomination..hell even spike was no where to be found and who could blame him! Monta and co got to the rim at will.. the game seemed like it was being played at half speed or maybe half effort..on the drama tip.. AR came into the game late in the first played about 2 or 3 minutes then was abruptly ripped out.. on his way to the bench had some words for nellie resulting in not seeing the floor again an till there was under 2 minutes left in the game..in those same final 2 was curry's only run.. where he blocked a david lee drive to the hoop..lee didn't like it and started jawing at curry the next play down.. wow lee your tough! bet money he wouldn't have jawed at anybody eles on the squad..anyway everybody played pretty well cj watson who got the nod early instead of curry was lights out which kept him on the floor most of the second half..and azu had a bounce back game scoring at will..the knicks are now off to there worst start in franchise history.. obviously they have gutted there roster in hopes of landing lebron this off season.. but they shouldn't be this bad.. I dont think coach dantoni will make it to the new year..on another note after nellie yanked jax the other night in indiana and the little controversy around that he plays him 47 minutes.. the hidden agendas and mind fu*ks need stop.

Game 7

here we go again

instead of building on the impressive ball movement that got everybody involved monday in Oakland the dubs started the road trip once again going 1 on 1 and chucking shots..what ever got into jax the other night..well it didn't travel with him starting the game 1 for 5 then abruptly being pulled early to sit most of the first half.. a half that made Roy hibbert look like an allstar..with no one over 230lbs on the team healthy the 7 '2 280 lbs center gobbled up everything around the rim.. maggs came in and did what he does..fill it up..he and monta kept the game in reach and AR was playing well and protecting the rim.. when he picked up his third foul midway through the second things went downhill fast.. the half ending with a earl watson 30 footer..
The second half started with more of the same the lead ballooning to 20 at one point..The only positive you can really take was the play of AR.. he showed alot of hart battling in there as our lone big.. when nellie had Finlay waived the white flag pulling the vets it was AR leading the youngsters back to with in single digits.. only for nellie to reinsert the vets to start chucking again..Moment of the night came late when danny granger got up in AR's face trying to punk the 20 year old..as you can see in the clip Ar was having none of it..Its clear they need to hand this team over to him and curry and let them take there lumps..considering the lumps we are taking now.. what is there to lose?
I will say it was the worst officiated game thus far.

Game 6

Yes we can

Looks like the pride kicked in..and the dubs were out for redemption..course it doesn't hurt that it was the 1-6 T-wolves in town..Jax came out and set the tone dropping dimes left in right it got so contagious you even had maggs getting guys open shots.. jax was as good as it gets finishing with a career high 15 assists..monta was really getting after it on D creating turn overs and that was getting them out and running..azubuike had the best game of his career just scoring from all over and very efficiently..AR really had a what I would call a feel good game.. played 30 minutes and seemed to regain some of that swag we saw at the end of last year..credit jax with getting him some easy buckets to get him going..This was as much of a must win game as there is 5 games into a season and they did it with style and more importantly they did having fun.. Hopefully this will lead to some much need chemistry both on and off the floor.

It was announced that andris biedrins will miss the road trip with a strained groin and pulled muscle in his lower back..I have been down on him of late as it seems his game has regressed or just not grown like it should.. I look at this as an opportunity for AR to find a roll and gain some confidence and much needed experience.

Game 5

Enough is enough!

Not much to say about what went wrong..what didn't?
If you watch the above highlights pay attention to the complete lack of effort put out by the dubs..
also notice how much individual 1 on 1 play there was..azu 3 different times gathered a rebound and took it the length of the court with his head down..he scored on 2 occasions but the point is they look like they are playing at the Y..no plays no chemistry just 1 on 1 pick up ball. Curry opened the game with 3 turnovers in the first 4 minutes.. while jax refused to respect the range of the rookie Casspi who hit 3 uncontested 3's in the first..Tyreke evans dominated monta on both ends..bothering him with a his 7ft wing span and just bulling him with his big body on offense side..so much so that in the second they switched jax on him..but he couldn't stay in front of him..The whole second half was pretty much garbage time..

The wheels are falling off faster then anyone could have imagined..Nellie has lost this team.
After the game jax's agent Mark Stevens tore nellie a new one
"I'm disgusted with the quality of Nelson's coaching and with the lack of trust his players have in him," he said. "Nelson is the winningest coach in NBA history to never have coached in the NBA Finals, let alone won a championship. Yet he keeps getting jobs despite being 69 years old."

"I just want him out of there now," Stevens said. "It doesn't matter where. At this stage, something has to be done. It can't get any worse."

Chris Broussard

something has got to give.. nellie will have to trade jax immediately or he may be the one gone.

Game 4

BD's
revenge!

yes beans and turiaf were side lined..yes the clip had a huge size advantage every where you looked.. This doesn't excuse the debacle in Oakland last night..
The clip immediately fed the ball to kamen and the dubs immediately doubled..leading to some wide open J's for there bulky back court..gordon hit his first couple shots which opened up his whole game (and its a nice one)..the dubs were quick to feel sorry for themselves after rattling out several open shots..the real difference I think was baron scouted our guys tendencies very well for his teammates particularly monta who had the ball ripped more times then I can ever remember in a game.. baron clearly knows everything he likes to do and schooled his teammates to it...as the half was winding down it seemed they should be down 20 but it was only a 10 or 12 point game.. but everybody was wearing there frustration on there sleeve..one play in particular ( in the above highlights) monta wanted AR to clear out a side.. waved him away AR didn't at first.. then did.. only to swing right back around..at this point the shot clock is ticking down so monta pulled a 3.. he hits it but on his way back down he is swearing at AR.. this is the most demonstrative I have ever seen monta with anybody.. his visible frustration was shocking and comforting at the same time..he should have been! the clip put the game away early in the 3rd..methodically picking us apart with what ever match up they wanted to exploit..BD was very efficient all night and buried a couple Patten step back 3's to close the quarter..let the garbage time begin.. was looking forward to see curry and AR out there for the fourth but curry fouled out early.. after being abused by the clips physical back court all night.. AR was out of control pretty much every time he touched the ball on offense.. he did rebound well and took unusual amount of charges (4) trying to guard kamen.. he turned his ankle late and you could see the frustration boiling over.. when nellie pulled him and had a little chat to calm the youngster down and give him some encouragement..but that seemed to be the only coaching nellie did. They played so shockingly bad that I couldn't get angry watching.. I think everybody just wanted to see how bad it could get..maybe this is one step closer to a new coach..it will be interesting to see how the team reacts in Sac Sunday night.

Game 3

After the debacle in PHX the dubs were as desperate as you could be at 0-2..the lack of team chemistry and spirit in the first 2 games was reason for concern..
The new nellie line up had jax sliding to the 4 and azu being inserted in the starting line up at the 3
curry, monta, buke, jax, beans,,right away you could see the energy that had been lacking was there..but a huge frontline of m-gasol, z-bo, and gay were dominating the boards early and got beans in early foul trouble..mid way thru the first the grizz had pulled away to a 13 point lead when nellie finaly called a timeout..after that the team defence stepped up leading to turn overs and fast breaks getting us back in the game before the quarter was over.. In the second maggs really got going after a a couple of slashes to the hoop and to his credit seemed to bother z-bo on the other end playing him very physical..but gay started heating up from what seemed like every where abusing buke..In comes morrow to match up with a red hot gay....pause....it was interesting to see gay dropped a few jumpers on him and blew by him for a dunk.. but thats what really brought out the competitive juice in morrow.. all of a sudden he was looking for his shot and pulling the trigger with no hesitation..every time gay scored morrow had an answer.. this battle continued well into the 3rd with the score going back in forth.. until nellie switched jax on gay and the vet did his job got him out of rhythm and missed a few..the young grizz went else where for there offense with much less success..while the dubs continued to feed the hot hand in morrow..Id say that was the turning point of the game..as obvious a move as it was you have to credit nellie for putting jax on gay and of course credit jax with the job he did on him. a little lost in morrow's shooting barrage was the play of monta who really had one of his best all around games in his career imo..also would like to give some credit to beans..missing most of the game with foul trouble..down the stretch he made some big hustle plays and hit the boards.. so the monkey is off there back..for now..good win

Game 2

I dont know where dub's stays or what they do the night before..but it seems like every time they make the short trip to PHX they play like they have been out all night..This game was no different..
PHX didn't start the game paticulary hot..but the lack of defesive rotations and early turnovers got them going in the 2nd..none of our bigs wanted to come out and challenge frye behind the arc..While jax monta & maggs forced things offensivley to stay afloat..The story of the game was Nash making it look to easy every time down.. getting guys wide open shots and dunks all night..finishing with his sixth career 20+ assist night.. Im sure steph was taking note...Overall the lack of energy and desire was apparent from tip.

Game 1

opening night at Oracle
started off sloppy for both sides probably some opening night jitters..once GS got out and ran monta really got going..HOU was more then game.. killing GS with transition 3's..GS closed the half on a 14 -2 run with the help of Randolph and Azu off the bench late..the third quarter is where the game was lost.. defensive rotations were very late leading to WIDE open j's for HOU.. at one point they were 10 of 11 in the quarter..GS managed to keep it with in striking distance but there was way to much 1 on 1 isolation's bogging down the flow..the fourth was much more competitive with steph finding his mid range game along with some momentum swinging dunks from Azu.. but when you let a team shoot 50% from behind the arc and hit 10 of them.. your not gona win.
